I happily paid one of my customers $120.00 for this box of plants!

65¢ Per Square Inch. That’s $93.60 in
One Square Foot!

…and you can do it over and over and over.

Does the idea of growing and selling small plants in your backyard seem like an intimidating venture for you?

I know for a lot of people it does because they look at what I am doing and think to themselves, that’s crazy! There’s no way that I am going to do all of that work, nor do I have room for all of those plants.

So I’d like to simplify this and try to put it into perspective for you.

Mike and Pam’s Dining Room Table

Mike and Pam’s Dining Room Table

Much to my wife’s dismay I have adopted the dining room table as my work station.

We’ve got an office upstairs with computers and all the gizmos it takes to run a business, but when I’m writing or answering questions etc. I like the dining room table.

There’s a nice big bay window and from my seat at the table I can see the street, people walking down the sidewalk, three beautiful Japanese maples and my prized Lavender Twist Redbud tree.

And all too often I have the dining room table all junked up with the “things” I need to work. Calender, calculator, pencil sharpener, tape measure, coffee cup etc.

I’m showing you our dining room table because on the table Pam has these place mats and I was looking for a point of reference so the place mats it is.

Mike and Pam’s Dining Room Table

This place mat is 18″ by 11″. That’s 198 square inches. When I am rooting cuttings, each cutting gets about one square inch of space in the propagation box.

That’s all they need, one square inch. They do just fine with only that much room.

50 Rooted Cuttings of Gold Flame Spirea

I bought this bundle of Gold Flame Spirea from one of my newer customers down in Clinton, Tennessee.

Actually I bought four of these bundles from Nathan and he asked me to let him know if the plants arrived okay. So here they are Nathan, you did a great job packing them and you did a great job rooting them.

I paid Nathan 60 cents per rooted cutting. He set the price. I happily paid it. I bought a total of 200 of these from him and he shipped them to me in the small box that you see at the top of this page.

Nathan just picked up $120.00 for a box of rooted cuttings that he grew right in his backyard!

One hundred and twenty dollars for… what some would call, twigs!

Gold Flame Spirea Rooted Cutting

As you can see, the cuttings that Nathan sent me are well rooted and I promise you, as soon as we pot these up, they will take off growing like crazy.

I’ll probably be able to sell them for $5.97 next spring. Are you beginning to see why growers like me love to buy from other growers?

Emerald Green Arborvitae Rooted Cutting

This Emerald Green Arborvitae cutting was rooted in one square inch of space. The cutting gets one square inch but the roots, as they develop, they share the space below the surface.

So, even though the roots may spread a little wider than one square inch, everything outside of that one square inch is shared with the cutting next door. So . . . you can root one cutting per square inch.

Mike, don’t the roots get tangled up?

Good question and the answer is no. We always use a rooting medium that is loose, not dense, so as you remove the cuttings from their little propagation bed the rooting medium falls away and the cuttings are easily separated from one another.

How long does it take for the cuttings to root?

Another good question. It varies from plant to plant but many things will root in four weeks, some things take six weeks, possibly eight weeks depending on what time of the year you stick the cuttings.

Back to the place mat on my (Pam’s) dining room table.

I showed you a photo of that place mat so you can get a true visual of how much room you really need to do this. So here are the facts:

  1. Each cutting needs one square inch of space.
  2. Each place mat on our dining room table is 198 square inches.
  3. So in an area the size of a table place mat you can root approximately 198 cuttings.
  4. You can make a propagation box out of a plastic tote from Walmart.
  5. Each cutting that you root and sell should sell for at least 65¢ per rooted cutting.
  6. Growers like me buy hundreds and hundreds of rooted cuttings at one time.
  7. I recently wrote a complete guide for growers called, “Small Plants, Big Profits from Home”, and in that guide I show you many different ways to sell the plants that you grow.
  8. Sorry, this guide is not available in book stores, on Amazon or any other place. I keep the information in that guide very close to my chest, which is the reason you can only buy it from me.
  9. Arithmetic. In the area the size of a table place mat you can root 198 cuttings, each cutting sells for 65¢ each, that’s a total of $128.70. My guide, “Small Plants, Big Profits from Home” is only $7.00!
  10. You can do this over and over and over. If you have the room, you can use a much larger area and root even more cuttings. I do thousands at a time. Often times making more than one thousand cuttings in a day!
  11. If I’m so smart and know how to root thousands of cuttings at one time, why do I buy rooted cuttings from other growers? Great question! Because there are sooooo many plants that you and I can grow and sell I am always buying more so I can expand my inventory. I spend thousands of dollars per year on plants for my nursery. As a matter of fact, right now there is a box of plants in my garage that I paid over $2,000 for!

Okay, those are the facts. You can grow thousands of rooted cuttings at one time and you can sell them for 65¢ each. You can make $128.70 in an area the size of a Table Place Mat.

AND... I teach you exactly how to do it, start to finish, in my guide, "Small Plants, Big Profits from Home".

Let me tell you...

Exactly What You're Getting

This is My Life's Work, literally. I've been doing this stuff for 40 years now. What you're getting here is a 40-year shortcut.

I've made hundreds of mistakes. Expensive mistakes! I'd like for you to avoid making these same mistakes. Learn from my failures. Skip to the front of the line.

That's what I'm giving you here.

40 years worth of experience, condensed down into a 109-page guide. Don't think of it as a book. It's NOT a book. It's a blueprint to success.

Everything I've ever done with any kind of success, in the business of growing and selling plants, is included in this guide.

Here's just a fraction of what's inside:

  • DON'T GET IN TROUBLE! You have to label your plants properly. There's nothing worse than someone buying a plant from you that they expect to be one thing and it ends up being something else. PLUS... some plants require you to include certain information on the label. Don't worry, I tell you exactly how to properly label your plants so you can avoid any kind of mishap. (See page 9.)
  • GROWING PATENTED PLANTS: Did you know it's illegal to propagate patented plants? Laws have been put in place to protect the patent holders. You'll learn how to deal with these laws so you can still grow and sell ANY plant, whether it has a patent or not. Also, I'll reveal a strategy to use to completely avoid patented plants altogether!
  • Discover a brain-dead easy way to make some quick money using my "wholesale buy and sell method". There are big companies out there that ONLY use this strategy. It's much quicker than growing everything from scratch.
  • Learn this simple technique to quickly build a customer base. Once you have them as a buyer, they'll be a buyer for life! Use this simple strategy to continuously build your customer list over time. Then, when you decide to have a plant sale, getting your message in front of interested plant buyers will be a piece of cake!
  • Not comfortable selling from home? No problem. You'll learn how to sell your plants in some of the busiest, most highly-trafficked places in town. I'll show you how to "Set Up Shop" right SMACK in the middle of the busiest place in town... WITHOUT breaking any laws, WITHOUT ticking off local businesses and WITHOUT doing any hard selling.

Everybody Knows...

The "big box stores" carry a wide selection of plants that will typically satisfy the average homeowner. It's true.

But what everyone DOESN'T KNOW, is the average homeowner will happily drive 50 or 60 minutes away, passing every "big box store" and garden center known to man...

...just to come to your plant sale. Deep down, they hate giving money to the big corporations. They'd much rather support local businesses and without a doubt, local growers.

But how do you make them aware you exist? That's easy. This guide is ABSOLUTELY LOADED with different ways to advertise your plants! You'll learn...

  • How I've used local newspapers, for years and years, to attract plant buyers by the droves to my plant sales. Yes, I said NEWSPAPERS!

For my weekend plant sales, I run an ad in my local newspaper. The ad usually costs me $400. I usually sell more than $5,000 worth of plants (most priced at $5.97).

A 3-day sale, $5,000 worth of small plants, using just a newspaper ad.
  • Discover how to sell plants using fundraisers. There's no better way to build a list of interested plant buyers than with fundraisers.
  • How to legally sell plants door-to-door. In most cities and towns, selling door-to-door is frowned upon... if not illegal.

But by using this sneaky technique, you can bypass every law and home owner's association code you want.
  • SELLING CUTTINGS: There's a HUGE market for both rooted, and un-rooted, cuttings. Growers like myself don't always like to propagate everything we grow. Sometimes it's much easier to buy a rooted cutting, pot it up and sell it for $5.97 later on.

But finding growers like myself is NOT easy. I'll show you exactly where to look and how to land them as a customer.
  • You'll also learn how to effectively sell at flea markets and swap meets. This is a fine art. Seriously.

Don't overlook the opportunity at these types of venues. The hard part has been done for you. Everyone there is already looking for a deal and is hot to buy.

I'll show you how to get the most out of these sales opportunities.

But that's not all. You'll also learn my secret growing tips, like...

Why You Should Be Using A
Soil-Less Growing Mix

There's no faster way to kill your plants than to use regular soil. Please don't try to reinvent the wheel here.

I've been doing this for 40 years. I know what works and what doesn't. I've killed plenty of plants, trust me. (See page 68 for the whole story.)

You'll also learn...

  • MY BIGGEST MISTAKE: Remember, I've been doing this for 40 years now. I kick myself every day for NOT doing this one thing way back when I started.

If I'd only done this one thing THEN, I'd have more money than I'd know what to do with NOW.
  • CONTROLLING WEEDS: My archnemesis... weeds. Don't under estimate the amount of control weeds can have over your life.

On Page 77 I'll share with you how to significantly reduce the amount of time you have to spend getting rid of weeds.
  • You'll also get access to my list of 21 Plants that are Easy to Grow and Sell Like Crazy.

This list has become somewhat famous among Backyard Growers... it's included in this guide.

Like I said above, this is my life's work. It's all I know. I'm happy to be sharing it with you and truly hope you take what I'm giving you here and make a difference in the world.

The sooner you can get started, the better.

Conveniently, I've made it so you can get instant access within about 5 minutes...

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much money do I need to get started with this?

A. You can start with nothing. Seriously. If you have plants around your house already that you can take cuttings from (and you know the variety), you’re good to go.

Q. Why are you only charging $7?

A. If you’re thinking “$7 is cheap…what’s the catch?” then here are three reasons that should put your mind at ease:

  1. $7 puts this information within the reach of everyone… (And at $7, you shouldn’t have to skip any meals or get approval from your significant other.)
  2. It weeds out the freebie-seekers. I only want serious folks who will take action, and in my experience charging anything…even if it’s just $1…gets rid of 99% of those knuckleheads.
  3. I also believe that once you experience this Quick-Start Guide, you’ll want more and maybe…just maybe…you’ll come back, buy more and possibly even upgrade to the Backyard Grower's University or the Backyard Grower's Business Center.

But that’s it…

No fine print…no “hidden trials”…no smoke and mirrors. Just the information you need and the results you want.

Q. Is there a guarantee?

A. Yep…you have a 60-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

In other words, if you aren’t happy for any reason, just let me know and I’ll give you your money back. I obviously don’t think it’ll come to that, but if you’re even the least bit worried if this will work for you, then I’ll put your mind at ease. You either get the results you want or you get your money back. It’s as simple as that!

Q. How long will it take to get access to this guide?

A. Immediate.

Instructions on how to download the digital eBook will be sent to the email address you provide.

Q. Do you have any examples or case studies of other people who have used your guide to get good results?

A. Here are just a few…

“Yesterday I sold 5, 3-gallon Purple Sandcherries for $15.00 each. I paid $0.25 each for them (close out/end of season sale at Lowe’s). I invested $1.25 and sold them for $75.00. This is insane! In a good way! Not as good as growing a cutting from "nothing" and selling for $4.97, but OMG is this awesome or what??? Friday, one customer bought $175.00 worth of plants that cost me less than $5.00 to produce. It's so funny because my "friends" tell me that if I add up all the hours and hard work I put into this, the monetary reward comes out to very little per hour. I just smile and nod my head. I love working with plants. And BTW how much are they making watching soaps and Jerry Springer? Oh and don't forget they have to pay to go to the gym. Who's the fool now? LOL! I haven't even started my ads yet and I've already sold over $500.00 worth of plants. I don't officially open for a few more weeks! Thanks again Mike!”
-Laura, from Port Jervis, NY

“Wow! Great three day sale. We advertised for 3 days this week and in that 3 days made $4,500.00! That is without most of our regular customers coming by yet. It is unbelievable how many plants went out of here this week. People coming with the ad in hand with things circled . Amazing how many people didn't know we were here and also how far they came to get here!!! Again, Thank You MikeÖyou are still my HERO!!!”
-Ron and Bonnie, from Conneaut Lake, PA

“I live in the heart of nurseryland here in Oregon and I have four very close personal friends who are in the quote, unquote Big-Boy-Nursery-Business here. When I talked to them about starting my own backyard nursery they all told me it was too much work and there was no money in it. But growing is my passion and I knew it was something I wanted to do and could do. I was getting pretty frustrated with my friends so I started searching online and came across your program and... oh my gosh, what a difference it has made in my life. I figured out why these Big Boys told me it wasn’t something I should do and that I wouldn’t make money... because they didn’t want to share the wealth. My belief is there’s enough for everyone so, shame on them. On a personal note, I lost my 28-year-old daughter a year ago. Your program is what got me out of bed almost every morning for a whole year. I actually had something to get up for in the morning when there were mornings where there was no other reason at all for me to get out of bed. So, it pretty much saved my life as far as I’m concerned. Truly I speak from my heart when I say that. It’s brought so much joy into my life and I’m happy that I could share my story!”
-Gretchen, from Boring, OR

“All my life I wanted a small nursery. I even went to college and took Greenhouse Operation and Management. Every single person, including my professors and greenhouse owners, told me it would be impossible to get started for under $60,000 to $100,000. They convinced me to give up my hope. Then, along comes Mike, and tells you and SHOWS you how to have your own little nursery that can be started on ANY budget level from buying a pack of seeds, to starting out on your front porch, back porch, under a tree in your yard, even on a tiny card table. Then you grow that little beginning to whatever size you want. Yes, it takes work but you’re pursuing your dreams, not letting it wither away in the back of your mind. Mike teaches you what no one else will. How to keep it simple, easy, and cheap. There’s not another business I can think of that you can start this cheap. I can’t thank Mike enough for bringing my dream of a backyard nursery to a reality when everyone else had dashed my hopes to smithereens. Thank you Mike!”
-Phyllis, from Hot Springs, AR

“We did $3,935 in two days. I had about 2100 plants on hand ready to sell. 95% of these plants were $4.97. That is what brought people to the sale. I figure I made $3000 off of those plants by themselves. You want the bulk of your sales to be things you grew and are able to sell for $4.97. That’s where the profit margin is.”
-Jeremy, from Morganton, NC

“Amazing! Did almost $600.00 in the pouring rain (3" in 6 hours) on a Friday. Total for that week was almost $4,000. We also had a two day sale last Friday and Saturday with only people invited from our email list. We sold over $4,000 and most of the plants had no flowers and are still dormant! We had another sale this week and were just shy of $7,500.00 in sales. My fourth sale of the spring. I'm not bragging. We work very hard and advertise using Mike’s ad.”
-Tom, from Lititz, PA

“Had our first sale of year today, Saturday. Invitation only sale for people on our mailing list. Did $5,060 in just over six hours.”
-Tom and Patty, from Bend, OR

“I had a hubby who was scoffing at me for starting my business. My kids, too, were skeptical. All that ended after my first sale when I made over $2,000. Now they take me seriously. Every year gets better. I have expanded my table area (I don't grow in the ground due to the difficulty of me or hubby digging up huge plants) and still I need more room. I think I have about 1/12th of an acre of usage. Grow it, and they will come... and buy!”
-Jeanne, from Egg Harbor Township, NJ

“Oh Yeah!!!! I am excited. Total sales in 6 hours is $902.00. $853.00 from craigslist and $49.00 from "plant sign". Everyone was amazed at how good my plants looked from the photos posted. Talk about being stoked. Gotta love it!!! Sold quite a few cactus and succulents. Also Crape Myrtles and Pomegranate trees did very well. I couldn't believe that I could have this much fun and not get in trouble!!!”
-Tom, from Tucson, AZ

“Hi I'm Van Atkins of V @ B Nursery, the B is my Grandson Bobby he has been a big help for the past several years. He is 14 now and doing just about everything, my back has been giving me trouble for several years and it came to the point where I had to get it fixed, so I had surgery this past Wednesday. So now I'm not able to do anything for a spell. Bobby has been doing the shipping of the Mexican Petunias and I'm proud of him he has done all the work. I was wondering what was the condition of the plants when they were received? Please reply. He Had a plant sale here at the yard this past Fri. and Sat. and made $ 600.00, he did great! I will check back later I can only sit here for a few minutes.”
-Van, from Charleston, SC

“I had my first small plant sale and made $500.00 with one sale. I had over 100 huckleberry plants in 4-inch salvaged pots that I had started around the first of May along with some other things. I came in too late for this seasons big sale time, so I did what I could. I planted things I thought would sell quick and took hundreds of cuttings for next year. I ran one little free ad (using Mike’s suggested source) on July 6th and sold exactly 100 plants. A woman, from a nursery not far from me, called and asked how many of the huckleberries I had. She offered to buy 100 of them then asked me the price. I said $4.98. She said, SOLD! She came later and picked them up. It really is that simple! Thank you very much Mike!”
-Brian, from Tampa, FL

“Just concluded a two day sale... gross sales were $2,300.00. Excluding my labor, about 75 percent profit. Lots of good comments regarding the quality of the plants and, of course, the customers loved the prices! Good growing to all!”
-Jim, from Newport, TN

“Had our first driveway/yard sale on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. We did about $2,400. We're pleased. Small town, 12,000 people. Closest large city is 85 miles away. Special thanks to Mike for everything! I'm happy!”
-Bob, from Southern KY

“My name is James from Athens, AL. I’m a newbie, myself and I know a lot of you may have concern or doubt that this won’t work. First, let me say this... IT WORKS!!!! I started out with very little cash. I’m unemployed and I take care of my cancer-sick wife. I have been real busy with my wife's illness and haven’t had a sale yet. Two days ago I decided to have my first $4.97 sale. I had 2 different size pots to offer. The smaller pots (1/2 gal.), I sold for $4.97 and the larger pots (1gal.) I sold for $6.97. It didn’t matter what the plant was in the pots. I had a total of 120 small pots and 70 larger pots. I used the ad that Mike came up added my plants to it. The results were AWESOME!!!!!! I only had about 15 customers for a total sales of $537.00. I only had one guy that didn’t buy anything because he was looking for some large Japanese Maples (which i didn’t have) I had one guy buy all 30 of my small Japanese Maples and most of the other people spent at least $20.00. I have enough plants for 2 more sales. So all I want to say is that Mike's system really works!!!!! Just do what he does and you will make money doing it. And, I want to give a very big THANK YOU to Mike for all of his hard work developing this system. Thanks Mike!”
-James, from Athens, AL

“Two farmer’s market sales and one flea market sale and I have over $1200 to put in the bank. Fruit trees, tomato, pepper, eggplant, a few herbs, a few shrubs, and lots of my hupertuffa. Did real good!!”
-Veronica, from Scio, OH
